PS 40 Super Green Eco Team helps PS 40 carry out green initiatives with the students, faculty, and parents. The Team is comprised of elementary school students and parents. The team expanded heir waste diversion initiative to reduce the amount of garbage that is sent to the landfill and to raise environmental awareness in the community. PS 40 was the first NYC public school to compost all of their food and cafeteria paper waste. Winner of Manhattan SWAB 2012 Composting Grant Award.
