Tidelands Athlectic Complex
Übersicht
Tidelands Athletic Complex was built in the late 1980s on the edge of property that at one time hosted Roosevelt Stadium, a Depression-era park that hosted Jersey City’s minor league teams through 1978 as well as fifteen Brooklyn Dodgers games in 1956 and 1957. Sadly, the park was not well-maintained and it was torn down in 1983.
The complex, since named for Thomas M. Gerrity, hosts a football field as well as fields for baseball and softball. The baseball scoreboard is mounted from the back of the football grandstand, and it converts for soccer. A portable right-field fence is removed so that the field may be used for soccer.
Baseball facilities here are minimal. Seating consists of short bleachers along each foul line, and there is a spartan press box behind the plate.
