An O Verde Eco tour is the only way to truly take advantage of everything Ihla Grande has to offer. Our tour guide Gigi was very knowledgable and also very passionate about the environment. The island is naturally breathtaking and a simple one day excursion is not enough to experience it all. The snorkeling excursion is highly recommended and you even have the option of having Gigi take amazing underwater pictures.
I had a greta time staying at Caicara Pousada, with the water facing you as you step out of the hotel, you can never go wrong. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. This Pousada is located in the center of everything, with restaurants to your left and shops to your right I didn't feel like I missed a thing. Exciting enough for the night but still quiet enough after an exhausting day, this place is a definite recommendation. With sustainable environment awareness in their daily works and efficiency all around, Caicara Pousada will definitely be seeing me again soon.
Anyone can see Ilha Grande, but you wont really be seeing Ilha Grande without an O Verde Eco tour. Gigi has the no how on what to see, where to swim, where to climb, where to eat and so much more. She shows you Ilha Grande in a way that you wouldn't know it existed. With under water excursions in beautiful lagoons, hikes up to mile long beaches, lunch on little islands off the coast, its great. Her knowledge, love and passion for the conservation of the island makes you see the world in a beautiful light and it was great to get a chance to see it through her eyes.
This was a beautiful, cozy pousada. The owner Olive, is tied to this island through her family and cares very much about its preservation. Olive is dedicated to creating a sustainable business and loves the people who pass through her pousada. In addition to being environmentally friendly the pousada provides comfortable rooms and serves a delicious breakfast every morning in their small breakfast nook that looks right out into the ocean. What a great way to start the day!
This is one of the best tour companies i have come across. Gigi is so knowledgeable. She really makes you comfortable with the island and the wildlife that inhabits it. It is not always easy to find a tour company that is as passionate about preserving the environments that they tour as they are about their business but Gigi truly loves this island and it shows through the adventures she provides to her customers. -Leah C
The front view of the beach every morning at the complimentary breakfast was amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you need to grab a beach towel, leave your key, or just hang out by the lobby. The pousada had a nice local apartment feel to it, with very good amenities. There is a sauna, pool, and game area that made relaxing that much easier. It is also write on the beach so if you want to hang by the sand, get on a boat, or visit numerous shops, it's a great place to stay! - Christian V
The historical presentation at their location is only the beginning. Their tour guide Gigi really brought us into the heart of Ilha Grande through boat rides, and hikes to amazing places like Lopez Mendez. Without this tour, I doubt I would have seen the true beauty of the island. - Christian V
Pousada Tropicana looked like a very friendly envirnment. Although I personally did not stay there, those who did stay there looked as if they enjoyed themselves. The decoration is beautiful and very relaxing. Right in front of the pousada is a nice restaurant that was full at all times during the day. I would deffinately like to stay here in the future.---Matt M
O Verde Eco Tours is a great way to get to see the beauty of Brazil. Gigi, the guide, was like a freind to us. She was always there for us and was very knowledgable about the nature and history of Brazil. You must try Gigi's underwater tour; I have never expierenced such a beautiful and relaxing expierence. ---Matt M
While on a recent trip to Ilha Grande with Pace University, we didn't stay at the Pousada Tropicana, but we did get the opportunity to stop in and speak with some of their employees. The work they are doing to remain sustainable and protect Ilha Grande's environment and resources is remarkable and should be commended. It is definietly a place to consider staying whenver in Ilha Grande. Adrian S.
Small restaurant with a great "at home" taste. Very comfortable setting and you definitely get a bang for your buck. Highly recommended!
Pousada Corsario was amazing and the food in the restaurant was convenient and well priced. The pool was amazing and the scenery was relaxing. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. A very short walk away from the historical center.
The Museum was really interesting. There were a lot of fascinating information that could be gained from what they had on display. With memorable paintings and depiction, definitely a place to pop your head into.
I had a great experience at the restaurant. The servers were very helpful especially when they realized I wasn't fluent in the language. Definitely a great ambiance, decor and of course delicious food, ranging from tasty seafood options which was great for me and hearty meat options with my friends enjoyed. With outside seating and a stage set up for occasional live music you can never go wrong with this restaurant.
The Bike shop is just a great addition to Paraty! Because cars are not allowed in the historical section to be able to ride a bike around and see the sites that Paraty has to offer is great. Rent a bike here or if you are planning a longer stay buy one!
The food here was great. There was a lot to pick from on the menu from traditional Brazilian cuisine to not so traditional if members of you party are less adventurous. The staff was very helpful and served us quickly. There is also an option to sit outside to eat if the weather is nice...which it usually is. -Leah C
I was lucky enough to have ridden here by bike with a local and really enjoyed the scenery and historical presence. The landmark is breath taking and has a great view into the water. Christian V
Amazing service and atmosphere. The food is made pretty fast, and the employees are very nice and easy to talk too. One of my last nights there, the servers actually suggested a beach party to go check out. It ended up being a great suggested and good time out. As Americans, they even held a St. Patty's day theme for us during our trip. - Christian V
Pousada Corsario was great. The rooms were great and the decoration allowed you to feel at home in Brazil. One perk to the pousada was the free wifi, which had great connection. Waking up each morning to the delicous spread of breakfast was great. The pousada had great location and was in walking distance from the historical village. I would recomend this pousada to anyone!---Matt M
