Acerca del Mapa Verde Abierto
The GreenCityBlueLake Institute has created the Green Map of Northeast Ohio to locate the organizations and initiatives involved in making the region more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. We believe that asset mapping the many sustainability organizations, initiatives and structures in Northeast Ohio will help enterprises and individuals of all kinds—including non-profit, philanthropic, for-profit, governmental, academic and public—to find one another, connect and collaborate. By aiding in the process of strength and gap identification, the resources and information available on this map can help residents develop community projects and regional agendas, reduce project duplication, and increase regional impact. The map can also help the public find the institutions, businesses and infrastructure that are making their community greener. Northeast Ohio has a history of foreclosure, unemployment, environmental degradation, suburban sprawl and shrinking cities, but we hope to leverage our many regional assets to build an economic engine that empowers a green city on a blue lake.
