The Kokosing Gap Trail, which extends from Danville to Mt. Vernon, runs through Kenyon's campus near the Kenyon Athletic Center. The Gap Trail is a very popular (and paved) path for bicyclists and runners. According to the Gap Trail's website, it is "open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is the largest, paved rail-to-trail park in the United States maintained solely by donations and volunteers. Its non-profit board relys solely on gifts, contributions and volunteers for support of day-to-day operations and maintenance." The Gap Trail is a great way to get in touch with Kenyon's surroundings, and to see a bit of the local landscape in a recreational and green-friendly way!
