History:
The Holy Nativity Lutheran Church rain garden was installed to beautify the site. The project was initiated by a Master Gardener who was previously trained through the Stormwater Management in Your Backyard lectures.
Type of Runoff Managed:
This rain garden manages stormwater from the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church's driveway and rooftop. With an average rainfall of 44 inches a year, this rain garden intercepts, treats, and infiltrates approximately 22,000 gallons of stormwater per year.
Installation:
Approximately ten Master Gardeners of Gloucester County were present for the installation of the rain garden in July 2007, which was approved by the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church.
