Seasonal waste storage in Trondheim
Overview
Seasonal waste storage in Trondheim involves storing dry waste during spring and summer for combustion in winter, when demand for district heating is higher. This means the burning of waste without energy utilization during the summer can be avoided. In addition it reduces the need for fossil fuels to be used in the district heating system during the winter.
Waste is wrapped in plastic for storage. These waste packages are crushed into smaller pieces using specially engineered equipment before being fed into the incinerator.
