Chelsea Triangle on 9th Avenue and 14th Street
Overview
NYC GreenStreets program has made this little traffic triangle into a nice little public space. One of over 2,280 Greenstreets sites throughout the five borough, this one is located near Chelsea Market and its myriad local producers of treats, so you can also enjoy your sweets outdoors and people-watch in the sunshine. Dancing in the streets: sometimes there are events for the public, such as "Sunset Salsa", "Basic Capoeira Class", and "Malaysia Night Market". A collaboration of the Parks and Transportation department,every GreenStreets includes a neighborhood partner to help care for the trees and shrubs.
