Arikok National Park
Overview
"The landmass encompasses three primary geological formation that shapethe island: 1) lava formation, 2) quartz diorite formation, 3)limestone formation. These formation suport unique indigenus plants and wildlife. The rock outcrops, boulders, and crevices indigenous flora and fauna. Presence of gold deposits were found in the Arikok area."
Covering over 18% of Aruba's land area. "Arikok National Park is dedicated to nature conservation and education, as well as the preservation of Aruba's cultural historical heritage. The park is home to an extensicve variety of native flora and fauna, including several indigenous species. Great geological diversity and traces of Aruba's Amerindian and agriculatural past". The more popular sites in Arikok include: Daimari, Cunuco Arikok, Boca Prins, Dos Playa, Natural Pool, Yamanota, Caves (Guadirikiri, Fontein), and Hofi Fontein (the only freshwater spring in Aruba's north coast), and a Visitor's center.
