National Garden originally known as the Royal Garden was established by Queen Amalia as extension of the Royal Palace of King Otto and Queen Amalia in 1839
The Garden contains 15,000 ornamental plants imported from Milan.
It open to the public from sunrise to sunset and provides a peaceful respite from the center city.

If you would like to not only appreciate the beauty of the greenery in the garden but better understand how different plants were used in ancient Greece, contact Mrs. Eleni Premeti. She not only has an extensive knowledge of the different plants and trees found throughout the garden but the passion and integrity to give one a new understanding of what we find in nature based on how we used and valued it in the past.
