Federal Supreme Court palace
Overview
The glass-facade building housing the Federal judicial branch lies over a platform in a slightly elevated level in relation to the ground of the square. The white emblematic external side white columns follows the same concept as that of Planalto and Alvorada palaces. Together, these elements give a light and transparent symbolism to the most important justice court in the country. The Justice sculpture, by Alfredo Ceschiatti, stands in front of it, like a guardian to a castle. The palace also houses works of art, furniture and former justices' personal belongings and vests. Highlights include the country's Constitutions and the history of national laws.
