The Green Campus Initiative (GCI) was started by a handful of students and staff to address issues of sustainability on the University of Cape Town (UCT) campus.
This volunteer-run organization's numbers have now swelled to over 500 members and its influence has extended to several key projects that seek to make UCT carbon neutral. The GCI is fresh, dynamic and action-based, and is poised to make a lasting impact on the UCT way of life.
The GCI is also involved in diverse green projects and has established itself as the go-to group for environmental issues on campus.
