St. Mark's Church in the-Bowery
Overview
This charming 1799 fieldstone country church stands on what was once Governor Peter Stuyvesant's bouwerie, or farm. St Marks's is Manhattan's oldest continually used Christian site, and both Stuyvesant and Commodore Perry are buried here in vaults.
