First Cemetery of the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue
Overview
The cemetery was in use between 1682 and 1831. This graveyard is the oldest Jewish cemetery in the country and is among the oldest in the City. It is open to the public only on Memorial Day, when the congregation of Shearith Israel commemorates Jewish participants in the American Revolution.
