The Baltimore Homeless Youth Initiative (BHYI) is a coalition of government and community agencies addressing critical gaps in care for homeless youth. The goal of BHYI is to integrate disconnected services and ensure that youth, ages 14 to 24, receive the support they need to become self-sufficient, productive citizens.

On Wednesday May 18, 2011, Organizing With Neighbors Baltimore (OWN Baltimore) will be hosting a Youth Homelessness Networking and Resource Day, Many Baltimorians are unaware of the growing number of unaccomanied youth living on the street or surviving in shelters, on the couches of friends or on park benches. This resource day hopes to bring attention to this public problem while providing an opportunity for service providers, concerned residents and affected youth to connect.
