Farnsworth Middle School Butterfly House & Organic Garden
Overview
The Butterfly Station is a student-run butterfly house and native plant garden located on the grounds of Farnsworth Middle School (FMS). Visitors can walk among butterflies, watch how butterflies are raised in the metamorphosis room, or make free butterfly projects in the craft room. Community members of all ages will enjoy the many interactive butterfly exhibits. Butterfly Station is free and open to the public weekdays for a few weeks during the Summer. Contact the school for dates and times.
Guests are also invited to stop by the FMS Organic Garden. Located adjacent to the middle school, the garden raises a wide variety of fresh organic produce and presents an exciting opportunity for both students and the community to learn about the art of organic gardening. Food may be available for purchase at times, but most of the produce grown benefits the Regional Food Bank.
