Creed's Hill Lifesaving Station was built in 1878. It was located on the beach, abreast of Sandy Bay and 5 1/2 miles west southwest of Cape Hatteras Light. Abandoned in 1947, the station is now located about two miles west of its orginial location and is now a private home.

Keepers at Creed's Hill included Benjamin B. Dailey, David W. Ballance, Patrick H. Etheridge, Davis L. Gray, Homer W. Styron, Eugene H. Peel, and Robert W. Basnett.
