駒井邸-Komai-tei
Overview
北白川疎水沿いの閑静な住宅街に、駒井邸があります。この住宅は、京都大学理学部の遺伝学者であった駒井卓博士の住居であり、昭和初期の洋風住宅として質が高く、また建築当初の状態がよく保存されています。米国人建築家ウィリアム・メレル・ヴォーリズが円熟期にさしかかった時代の住宅建築で、昭和初期における代表的な作品ともいえます。1998（平成10)年３月、当住宅は、歴史的、文化的価値が高い建造物として、京都市指定有形文化財に指定されました。
