Warner Wetlands
Overview
The 140 acres that comprise the Warner Wetlands consists of two tracts of land located in a rural area of Northeast Lancaster County near 98th street and Interstate 80. The majority of the property is located within the established floodway and 100-year floodplain associated with Stevens Creek. Approximately 70 percent of the site contains saline soils and 40 percent of the property is identified as Category 3 saline wetlands and has the potential for recreational development and wetland mitigation. The area contains saline meadows and plant communities. The property was purchased by the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District in December of 2004.
