The awareness that hemp could be used for industrial purposes came to me in April of 1990. That awareness was the seed that became Hempisphere (1994-1997) and then Hempen Goods (1997-present). Originally, Hempen Goods focused on products made from hemp. Body care and food products from hemp seed and hemp seed oil. Crafts made from hemp twine and yarn. Hats, bags, clothing, footwear, and a variety of other goods made from hemp. Sometime around 2005, Hempen Goods started to offer clothing made from bamboo, soybean, and organic cotton in addition to many of the long term offerings made from hemp. The variety of eco-friendly clothing products Hempen Goods offers include bamboo, hemp, soybean, organic cotton, recycled plastic, recycled rubber, and tencel as of 2008.
