A recent estuary habitat restoration project, the Mamquam reunion project has reunited the previously isolated Mamquam blind channel with nearby creeks, sloughs and waterways. Highway and railroad construction had blocked water flow for over 80 years but, now that flow has resumed, the blind channel can once again be a home for juvenile salmon and other species.
