Earth Day Coalition
Overview
Earth Day Coalition is Cleveland’s own nonprofit environmental education organization serving Ohio and the nation. We provide a broad range of community-based environmental education and leadership initiatives through our four award-winning and nationally recognized programs. Earth Day Coalition was established in 1990 to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Earth Day in Ohio.
We work directly with students and teachers through our environmental education programs. Neighborhood and community organizations in Ohio and around the nation work with us on sustainable development, pollution prevention and environmental justice. We work with businesses and institutions in Ohio and around the country to promote homeland security with energy independence, improve air quality, reduce climate change and create jobs with clean fuels. We work with municipalities and neighborhood and community groups to protect local air quality and increase energy efficiency. And, we organize EarthFest, one of the longest standing and most successful Earth Day celebrations in the country, every April to celebrate Earth Day in Ohio.
