Overview
This pousada is in the process of creating their own gardens so that they could begin to cook with their own grown fruits and vegetables. They wanted the chef to begin using their own goods as oppose to importing them. We found this to be an incredibly sustainable attribute. In addition, the furniture was designed and handmade by the locals of the island, and they used natural resources to create them, for example, wood. Lastly, they hire locals to work there. The kind woman we spoke to explain that she was from the area as well as the other employees and the owner. They are a fairly new business; however they are taking great initiative to promote
