Overview
The original gutters in Roland Park were made of brick and round stones in a shallow depression. This created an unobtrusive edge and slowed the flow of runoff allowing more rainwater to be absorbed into the ground. You can still find them in several places around the neighborhood - along Hawthorn Road, Club Road and Keswick near Merryman Court, for example.
