Darna
Overview
Many of Israel's Sephardic population originally hails from the North African country of Morocco. When they immigrated to the land beginning in the early 1900's they brought with them Moroccan food traditions. Today, Moroccan food is a staple of the New Israeli culinary culture and is famous for its mix of savory and sweet ingredients. Darna is perched high at the top of the list of Moroccan eating establishments in Israel. Here classic Moroccan cuisine is served up within the bounds of kashrut and features traditional dishes like pastilla and tagine. The genuine flavors and dazzling interior space will transport diners to the streets of Marrakesh. 3 Horkanos Street, Jerusalem; 972 (2) 624 5406; Sun-Thurs 12:30-3:30 PM and 6:30PM- 12:30 AM, Sat after Shabbat- 12 AM; $$$$ CC accepted
