Jerusalem
Rachmo
Overview
An institution in Jerusalem before there was the State of Israel, Rachmo is a must- stop on any visit to the city. Working class locals flock to the no frills space to fill their plates with superb Kurdish/Iraqi cuisine as well as dishes influenced by the Eastern European migration like goulash and schnitzel. The humble restaurant epitomizes the country's modest beginnings highlighting the foods of the people that made the nation of Israel possible. 5 Ha'Eshkol Street, Jerusalem; 972 (2) 623 4595; Sun-Thurs 8:30 AM- 6 PM, Fri 8 AM- 2:30 PM; $ cash only
