Maggie Walker National Historic Site
Overview
The National Park Service celebrates the life work of Maggie L. Walker, the first African American woman to charter a bank and an overall advocate for African American Women's rights at the turn of the 20th century. Free tours of Ms. Walker's house and artifact exhibit are offered Monday-Saturday (Opening and Closing times available through the provided website). Educational programs and tours designed for students K-5, as well as, teaching curriculum for middle school grades 6-8 are also available through the NPS website. Come celebrate Richmond's rich cultural heritage at the Maggie L. Walker Historic Site.
