Four Mounds Center
Overview
Four Mounds, a Dubuque Landmark Site, is named after four ancient sacred Native American burial mounds on the property. This area was inhabited by Woodland Indians. The burial mounds were named to the National Register of Historic Places in November of 2000. Four Mounds is also a Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area affiliate site.

The estate consists of about 60 acres of bluffland along the Mississippi River, comprised of cultured grounds, historic gardens, woodlands, prairie and rare oak savanna. The 17 buildings that make up the estate were residential, farm, recreational and support structures for the site.
