When you approach the Macon County Building in downtown Decatur, you see this eight-foot bronze statue by the Russian-born sculptor Boris Lovet-Lorski.

Unveiled on September 8, 1946, it was the gift of Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Dawson. Fittingly, it depicted Lincoln as a young lawyer in front of a jury, for Abraham Lincoln had attended sessions of court in the town during the early years of his practice.
