With the goal of bridging the disconnect between the city of Richmond’s wealth of public art and creativity, and the rather drab appearance seen by people passing through on I-95/64 and entering the city’s gateways, Welcoming Walls will bring large scale murals to these specific areas. Focusing primarily on walls facing the interstates and major exits (ie. Boulevard, Belvidere, etc.), this project will put Richmond’s best face forward.
Project One is located at the Clarion Hotel parking deck on Hermitage Avenue at the Boulevard exit from I-95NB/64WB. Completed in November 2014, the artists were Chris Milk and Andre Shank.
