Community Garden

Often planted on public or formerly abandoned land, community gardens are run by volunteers who cultivate vegetables or flowers and closer relationships to nature and one another. Generally open to all participants, they are sometimes fenced, locked or threatened by development. May offer hands-on learning and a habitat for birds and insects.
