Lancé au départ par le groupe Campus vert, le projet pilote de vermicompostage (au moyen de vers de terre) a permis, en 2007, de transformer 2268 kilogrammes (2,5 tonnes) de déchets en quelque 68 kilogrammes (150 livres) de compost prêt à étendre dans les plates-bandes de l’Université. On prévoit étendre le projet pilote aux résidences et à la caféteria universitaire durant l’année scolaire 2008.

The campus is home to a small scale vermicomposting (earth worms) pilot project which in 2007 diverted 2.5 tonnes of refuse transforming it into 150 pounds of decomposed material to spread on the University’s plant beds. Plans are in plans to expand the pilot project to include residences and the University cafeteria for the 2008 academic year
