Transition Hay-on-Wye started in late 2008 and continues "mulling", by working towards acceptance in the town and district ready for an unleashing. We have support from the Town's Mayor and Chamber of Commerce.

There are five of us in the Core Team and about 80 on our e-newsletter distribution.

During this time we've held various Climate Change and Peak oil awareness raising events, a "Waste-not-Want-not day, Transport day, have helped the town identify a site for new allotments and are working to help establishing these, carried out domestic energy efficiency surveys in association with the Household Energy Service www.h-e-s.org and we've worked with the Marcher Apple Network www.marcherapple.ork.uk on various occasions.

During the Hay festival of 2009, we had the priviledge of sharing a platform with Rob Hopkins. We are working to establish a permaculture site on the Hay festival grounds and, with a thermal imaging camera provided by the festival, carrying out imaging of local homes and businesses.

There are contacts on either side of the border with both The Green Valleys http://www.thegreenvalleys.org/ and Herefordshire in Transition Alliance http://herefordshireintransition.ning.com/group/transitionhayonwye?xg_so....
