The Waverly Garden Project, founded in 1998 at 644 Parkwyrth Avenue, includes vegetable plots, lawn, and decorative trees. It was started by residents after the City demolished a crime-ridden house, leaving behind much debris.

It has served as a treasured neighborhood green sanctuary for 17 years providing community meeting and celebration space as well as a vital resource for locally grown organic fruits and vegetables. The Waverly Garden Project is recognized by neighbors for it's fall pumpkins and summer cantaloupes especially.
