Fountain Park is the block surrounded by Martin Luther King Drive, Delmar Boulevard, Kingshighway Boulevard, and Walton Avenue. The park consists of an oval shaped area that was reserved for the park since the Aubert Place subdivision was first built in 1857. The Fountain that it was named for was a gift from the Merchants Exchange. It is a beautiful park that has benches around the fountain to just sit and relax. The neighborhood surrounding the park is spectacular. It is set up with a mid 19th-century layout. The area surrounding the park is the most stable of the neighborhood. The park also houses the Martin Luther King Jr. monument. On the Northeast side of the park lies a building that was built in 1897 and is absolutely gorgeous. Some people believe that this building should be on the top ten buildings to save in the town. The neighborhood houses a classic St. Louis Firehouse and the Vault which was a bank that was converted into a St. Louis night club that has gold mirrors. On the Southwest side of the park there is a beautiful church. Delmar has some amazing buildings that are housed in Fountain Park.
