Montclair Inn
Overview
Built in 1855 as a resort hotel, the Montclair Inn has a reputation which follows its life from a hotel to a seminary, school, boarding house and senior living residence. Recognizing the use of a historic building coupled with the needs of affordable housing for seniors, the Montclair Inn has recently been restored. Today, the Montclair Inn is owned by the non-profit Montclair Shared Housing Association which has overseen its renovations in the last several years. It houses 22 senior citizens over the age of 62 who are each given a private bedroom and three meals a day while offering amenities. The Montclair Inn gives seniors affordable housing while ensuring their independence.
