A few years ago, my brother,a former Yooper like myself, came back to the U.P. for a class reunion and to explore old haunts of his childhood. In his travels he came across your Abbey and bought me a bottle of Wild Thimbleberry jam. I've been parsing it out on bagles and bread for a while now but used up ;the last drop and seed of it this morning. It was delicious and brought back many childhood memories. For instance, once when my Mother was out behind our house picking thimbleberries in the woods to make jam she was bothered by a big brown dog thrashing around among the bushes. She yelled at it and shooed it away. We later discoved that a brown bear had been making its way through town and had been seen in the woods. When the berries were red on the thumb, nothing could stop my Mom! I don't know if you do mail order on jam but if so I'd like to order some. I discovered that Baroni's Spaghetti Sauce (Monday washday lunch) from Hancock can be ordered. Why not Thimbleberry Jam? Please reply. Thanks for the taste of home.
