The idea of starting a local gardening club was developed at a public meeting in June 2011, when people from the area met to formulate the group’s aims and principles. The name Garth Gardeners was agreed with the guiding principle that it should be open to anyone who enjoys their garden, novices and experts alike. .

We meet monthly from September to May at Pentyrch Village Hall. Pentyrch is eight miles north of Cardiff, high above the River Taff, on the side of Garth Mountain. Garth Mountain briefly became famous following the release of the film “The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain. Typical meetings include a themed presentation and discussion, followed by an informal session with refreshments, raffle and opportunities to “bring & buy”. We also have social evenings twice a year.
