The Grovesend Local Produce Market runs on the 4th Saturday of every month (10am - 1pm) and has proved a popular resource in a village that has no local shops of its own. The project not only provides easy access to local produce, including home cooked food and confectionaries, and fair trade products, but also promotes community involvement and use of the Welsh language. The monthly market was set up in October 2007 by the Grovesend Sustainable Development Association, is run by a volunteer committee and is held in the Miners' Welfare Association Hall. The Group were shortlisted for the 2008 Sustainable Swansea Awards - SCVS Small Community Project Category.
