Philipsburg Manor is a 300 year old working historical and educational farm that provides a window into what life in the area was like in generations past, as well as a insights into what aspects of a more local, sustainable farming system might look like in the future.

Farmers and educators in period dress give tours of the manor house, working water mill, slave’s garden and other features, while demonstrating traditional farming skills such as textile production, wheat threshing and traditional cooking.

We have taken our kids here for a number of events, including the Pinkster Festival, a traditional African American colonial celebration. The kids loved it, and we all learned so much about both parts of history we were unaware of, as well as traditional African colonial cooking, storytelling and culture. Highly recommended!
