Parma Heights Water Facility for the City of Cleveland (aka Parma Reservoir)

Part of Cleveland's Division of Water, the 1934 Parma Reservoir is a 23-million gallon earth-covered tank. The inner concrete wall is 34 feet high and over 4 feet thick at its base. Its Gothic facade resembles a 14th- century English castle. The 1920's plan for "Parma Reservoir Park" called for extensive amenities including horse trails, but the depression forced the city to scale back. The Works Progress Administration provided labor for this public works project. Since 1994, the reservoir has been known as the "Parma Heights Water Facility for the City of Cleveland." -from the "Friends of Big Creek" brochure
