Built as a country seat just after the Revolutionary War by a prominent Maryland family, the house and its immediate surroundings are just a remnant of the Hampton estate of the early 1800s.
Wonderful gardens, green space, history, educational tours, cultural events.
Days/Hours open: Mansion Open: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Mansion Tours: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. (approximately 45 minutes) Note: Some stair-climbing is needed to reach the second floor. Lower House Open: 10:00 a.m. - Noon, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (daily) Tour of Home Farm: 2 p.m. (30 minutes) Self-guided tour of home farm can be taken anytime. Slave quarters, dairy, stables and family cemetery 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
