Overview

Average: 4 (1 vote)

Kiss+Cathcart Architects is a versatile and progressive architectural firm whose designs are influenced by "productive" architecture rather than just "sustainable" or "green." Building on both of these principles, Kiss+Cathcart has developed an unique approach towards its projects while using environmental factors as a source of their design inspiration. Since founding the office in 1983, they've completed a wide range of project types, ranging from high-technology manufacturing facilities and public institutions to homes, retail stores, and restaurants, both as new construction and renovation. They've pioneered a number of integrated technologies which add productive value to buildings, including Building Integrated Photovoltaics, Building Integrated Vegetation and Agriculture. Their Brooklyn based projects include Stillwell Avenue Terminal train shed, Bushwick Inlet Park and NYC DEP Remsen Maintenance Facility.
