Shaw Nature Reserve just outside of Pacific, MO is a great place for experiencing active prairie and savannah management practices. There is a wide selection of native grasses and wildflowers in the prairies that can be seen by the extensive trail system. The site includes other amenities as well, including picnic shelters, an ampitheater, and ponds and wetlands. The Missouri Prairie Foundation is involved in managing the property, which is owned by the Missouri Botanical Garden. There are many opportunities to enjoy the Reserve, with classes and visitor events on an almost weekly basis. There is a daily use fee for the site.
