The Ted Jones Trail connects the University of Missouri - St. Louis to downtown Ferguson. Running almost parallel to Florissant road, the trail is lined by trees instead of a road. This creates a more scenic route. The trail goes through a tunnel below I-70 which is decorated by local artists and high school students. You can access the trail head by the Metro-Link on UMSL's North Campus in St. Louis and by Short Avenue in Ferguson. This trail is only 2.2 miles long but it connects to the North County Bikeway for another 10.4 miles. The Ted Jones Trail is part of the Trailnet network. Trailnet helps design streets, sidewalks, and trails where people can walk and bike safely. For more information on the Ted Jones Trail you can look at this website http://www.traillink.com/trail/ted-jones-trail.aspx for Trailnet http://www.trailnet.org/about. I have heard this is a beautiful trail that is realitively easy to bike with minimal elevations. The highest the trial elevates is 623 ft but it starts at 594 ft.
