Site dissected by major roads just North of Junction 46 of the M4 and adjacent to the Park and Ride.
It has a history of coal mine working with associated small spoil tip and tramway dating from beginning of 20th Century. Tip area associated with Felindre former tin plate works.

Whilst it is not a particularly attractive site, there is wildlife interest. Plants such as common cottongrass, ragged-robin, western gorse, orchids, tormentil, whirled caraway are present along with reptiles such as adder, common lizard and slow worm. Look out for birds such as song thrush, linnet, blackbird, stone chat and kestrel.
