World War II Navy Beach Jumpers Honorary Memorial
Overview
As part of WWII, the Beach Jumpers were an elite group of Navy service men who carried out highly secretive missions. The Beach Jumpers mission was to create an illusion that one enemy beach would be invaded, when in fact the invasion would take place on a different beach. The Beach Jumpers' first mission was in Sicily during WWII. The men trained in Ocracoke and at Camp Bradford, VA This memorial is located about 1/2 mile north of Howard's Pub.
