Coastal Printing is an innovative printing company driven towards one mission – to assist you by producing communication media that will enhance your business. Founded in 1971, Coastal is one of the largest independently owned printing firms in the Sarasota-Bradenton area serving customers locally, state-wide and across the entire US region. Their services include: offset or digital printing, web-to-print, variable data, direct-mail, personalized URL's, QR Codes, and MS Tags. Coastal Printing is a founding member of IPW Communications, a dynamic network of over 200 printers throughout the US, Canada and Europe, brought together to help customers print and deliver work anywhere, anytime.

Becoming a green business partner is a natural fit for Coastal Printing. For the past several years, they have been using zero VOC emission and vegetable based inks, both for environmental and employee health reasons. Coastal encourages employees to recycle, turn off all lights when not in use, and shutdown computer equipment at the conclusion of each work day. Through these green measures, Coastal has reduced the energy needed to produce printed products. Coastal Printing looks at all aspects of their business to ensure a minimal carbon footprint.

Coastal Printing became a recognized “Green Printer” to help their customers remain at the forefront of environmental compliance and eco-citizenship. Through campaigns and programs such as ChoosePrint.org, Coastal Printing is helping millions of trees to be replanted every year and forests to be responsibly managed to maintain and grow wildlife populations, control water run-off, and erosion – helping our planet’s atmosphere sustain its balance in the face of global warming.

In addition to its green commitment, Coastal Printing practices lean management, a business practice more commonly found in factories and manufacturing plants. Terry Rayner, Coastal’s Chief Operating Officer, thought that kind of philosophy would be perfect for the company. Popularized by Toyota engineers, the lean theory is guided by one principle: Money or resources spent on something other than customer value is a waste and should therefore be eliminated.

Coastal Printing Inc. became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2013. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
