Potter Park is a 37-acre neighborhood park located within Palmer Ranch and offers a variety of both active and passive recreational opportunities. The Potter Park gazebo and grounds are perfect for family reunions, birthday parties, corporate outings or organized events. Background

This park property was donated to Sarsota County through the development of Palmer Ranch. The first phase of recreational improvements began in 1994 and are ongoing. In 2003, the Palmer Ranch Master Association (PRMA) and Parks Committee was formed and consists of Palmer Ranch residents, the President of the PRMA, representatives from Parks and Recreation and the YMCA. This partnership has produced many success stories over the years at Potter Park including:
Improved vegetation management
New play equipment with shade structures
Additional parking areas
42’ wide gazebo with landscaping, grill, and handicap seating areas
Improved signage
Restored open play area
Additional vehicular access
Overflow parking areas
Kiosk with maps and park information
Additional improvements in development at Potter Park include new shell-based trails and improvements to the existing trail system.
