This drinking water burrow is located in the northern part of the Jhou Bei village, at the intersection between Tainan city and Tainan county. Before the development of public water supply, the water burrow used to be the main supply of drinking water for local residents. The water originates from the Liou Kuai Liao branch of the Chia-Nan Canal. The water was saved and stored twice a year. People were hired for managing this burrow. They disinfected the water, pumped it into a water tower and then distributed to the local residents. Every house could only install one water faucet. After the construction of public water supply pipelines, this water burrow became part of local history.
